Process oils

NAPHTHENIC PROCESS OILS a unique set of properties

Our high quality hydrotreated naphthenic process oils can be characterized in general by their:

  • High solvency (low aniline point): delivering excellent stable emulsions while dissolving many additive types.
  • Unrivalled range of viscosities: from about 3 cSt to 700 cSt at 40°C, in other words, from close to a solvent to similar to or better than a high viscosity paraffinic process oil or an aromatic oil/extract.
  • Low viscosity index: allowing a quicker drop in viscosity when temperature increases than paraffinic oils for instance. Depending on application, this property can translate into lower and safer process or operating temperatures, lower heating requirements meaning energy savings, better sprayability, better pumpability and more.
  • Excellent health and safety profile: our naphthenic process oils are low in polycyclic aromatic content (PCA) and compliant with the European REACH registration, the strictest legislation in terms of carcinogenic polyaromatic hydrocarbons (PAH)
  • Compatibility: with many other oils and materials

Their all-round versatility makes them an undisputed affordable high quality process oil in many applications such as:

  • Adhesives, sealants, resins and mortars
  • Antidust /de-dusting agents for industrial and road dust-emitting activities
  • Antifoam or defoamers
  • Battery separators
  • Bitumen membranes and specialties
  • Carpet underlay
  • Crop spray
  • Demolding / Mold release agents
  • Drilling fluids
  • Explosives
  • Extenders, diluents and carrier fluids
  • Fertilizer antidust and anticaking agent
  • Flocculants and coagulants
  • Insoluble sulfur
  • Leather treatment and tanning
  • Paints and coatings
  • Polyacrylamide (PAM) production
  • Polymer processing and plasticizers
  • Printing inks
  • Protective coatings
  • PVC
  • Road construction, both in bitumen and asphalt applications
  • Textile
